Michael Odham showed up at the woman's home just before 6 p.m. Friday, April 5, and began yelling at her, Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur said.
The woman locked the doors to the home but Odham broke in, the sheriff said. The victim was able to flee and tried to leave in her car, but Odham’s vehicle was blocking her in.
Odham pulled out a firearm while preventing the victim from leaving, and assaulted her. Eventually, Odham would enter the home once again, giving the victim time to flee.
Deputies arrived at 6:07 p.m. and obtained warrants for Odham's arrest. Just before 10 p.m., Odham was found inside the Bearded Monkey in Fredericksburg, and he was arrested without incident.
Odham was charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony, destruction of property, brandishing a firearm, assault and battery, as well as, abduction. He was held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
